ANAC
The Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici – ANAC supports the candidacy of Rome City of Film. It was founded in 1952 by a group of authors, among which there were Age, Blasetti, Camerini, Margadonna, Scarpelli, Zavattini. Its members are directors and screenwriters. Its objectives, as listed on its statute, include cultural and political aims directly connected to freedom of expression. In over half a century, ANAC has always acted weaving the needs of two souls: one directly related to the material and moral interests of the authors and one concerned with Italian culture interests in general. Together with a small group of European authors associations, it promotes the Fédération Européenne des Realizateurs de l’Audiovisuel (FERA), whose headquarter is in Brussels. ANAC ‘s action in the complex and wide problematic situation regarding the defense and recovery of Moral and Material Interests of the authors has been crucial, both nationally and internationally, as well as the recognition of the right of freedom of creation, in the full respect of the original cultural pluralism. Its most recent victories in the field are the recognition of the legislation concerning the private copy both by Italy and Europe; the recognition of the film copyright by the Italian law; the entry into force of an italian Decree Law (recognised by Europe) on copyright remuneration related to tv screenings of films (on private and public networks), called “fair compensation”. A very important initiative, both nationally and internationally, has been the creation of “Coalizione Italiana per la Diversità Culturale”. ANAC, together with API, has founded Giornate degli Autori, an indedpendent section of Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. In 2004 it launched the Casa del Cinema di Roma, with the “Percorsi di Cinema” festival.
