The Selection Committee composed of Giuliana Bottino (Rome City of Film), Piergiorgio Foti (Expert on creative educational workshops for children), Fiorella Virgili (Biblioteche di Roma – Libraries of Rome), Serena Parpaglioni (Fondazione Cinema per Roma), Chiara Colaiori (Fondazione Cinema per Roma) met on February 8th and selected the drawing representing Rome City of Film for the Busan contest “I Love to Play”:
“Let’s Create!” By Vasken Angelo “PLAYING FOR ME IS CREATIVITY: FROM NATURE TO THE DIGITAL”
Explanatory Statement: “Let’s create” by Angelo Vasken is showing us that play coincides with his creative act. He imagines an ideal city with large green spaces which would allow him to play football, tennis, or basketball outdoors every day. Yet, as a playstation user, he also imagines that in an ideal city it is possible to move from the natural to the digital world easily.
Busan City of Film will select a winner – among all drawings submitted by 12 UNESCO cities – who will be granted with:
– 2 return flights (1 for the winner, and 1 for a tutor and/or parent and/or teacher)
– hotel accommodation for 2 people during their stay in Busan on the occasion of the BIKY events
– BIKY ID Cards and Packages to participate in the BIKY events.
Moreover, if the winner is aged 10 to 12, she/he will also be involved as a member of the jury of the Festival’s side activities.
We hope that “Let’s Create!” will win the drawing contest! Good luck to Vasken Angelo!
We would like to thank all the children who took part in the competition with their beautiful drawings which are all full of colors, creativity and imagination!
